Welcome does feel different. It's less like a decision and more like a doorway. It makes me wonder what changes when we stop negotiating with ourselves and just open the door. 🙏💗

What is that moment like for you—the moment when you stop negotiating and simply open the door?

It can be a sigh that comes out of nowhere and I wonder "where did that come from?" That’s my body ending the negotiation without asking me. 🙏💗

You know what's almost magical?

I just finished writing my next article (it goes out tomorrow), and I wrote about sighing as a signal that I've drifted away from my true path ♥️🌊

The universe just winked at us, didn’t it? Two people, two articles, one sigh between them. The ocean really does say hi back. You’re magical, Judith. Can’t wait to read what you wrote tomorrow. 🙏💗

I love the way you bring the ocean into this ♥️🌊.

There is a great deal of wisdom in this post. It reminds me of Rumi’s The Guest House. Lovely writing!

Hi Rick, I’m glad it resonated with you! And thank you for introducing me to the poem. What “guides from beyond” are currently staying with you?

Yes! Welcome. "To welcome means to receive someone or something with open arms — without scrutiny, without reservation, without judgment."

Thanks for the restack, Shannon! That means more than you know. See you soon 🫶🏻

This reminds me of a quote from John Kabat-Zinn "Wherever you go, there you are." As you said, we can't return (or outrun!) ourselves. I love the reframe of "a welcome guest", it feels very ...kind.

Thank you for the quote, Katherine! Yes, it helped me a lot to think of myself as a beloved guest. Glad it resonated with you, too.
